Senior Superlatives

At every middle and high school, every student has a reputation. Yes, school is for learning and finding what you want to do in life, but every person is labeled something whether they like it or not. I also believe people get labeled by things they do consistently. In middle school it is not that bad. Most kids have just come from elementary school. They do not know any better; they just want to fit in. The names they are called and the details that have been used to describe them are not life labeled, as in these labels are not going to stay with you for life. At some point, you will move on and so will everybody else. They are just used they get to the end of middle school and people go their separate ways.

As we enter high school, school gets much harder and reputations last longer. What people think of you matters a lot more. They take that into consideration and start to live by it. In high school students aim to make themselves top notch, the most presentable and most approachable people they could be. They do whatever they have to do to not become a victim of the words they have been labeled with.

As high school passes, some people will realize labels are childish, but other will live by those;  if they are good they will brag about them. A lot of kids, on the other hand, do not fall under the impression of being call edsomething. They keep their head down and make it through the day. I can’t blame them. Fitting in does not concern them. They came to high school to learn and focus. High school is hard and keeping your head down is the only way some students know how to handle themselves. High school overall is something I recommend for everybody to go through. You meet new people, you go through changes, and find who you are.

As time passes people realize who they are and what they may want to do in life. They are finding themselves, despite everything that has been thrown at them. Not all high schools have accusations or cliques. It is very rare to find a place with a bunch of teenagers that do not judge. I believe high school gets you  ready for the real world, despite that you’ll be learning more in the hallways than in classrooms. People should care about labels, because it can affect them and others around them. For me and people that have the same mindset, I couldn’t care less about labels and what people think of me. As kids get older, they will come to that realization, but until then they will fall a victim into labels.
