Welcome to the North Springs Oracle for the 2022-23 school year! 

The North Springs Oracle is the award-winning student-run web paper for North Springs High School. Formerly a published newspaper, the Oracle is now published online at https://nsoracle.wordpress.com, so not only are we not wasting paper, but we are also making it more accessible to YOU! You can read on your phone, laptop, or iPad at any time. 

This year’s editors are Mairen Brown and Sarah Meiselman, both North Springs sophomores. The assistant editors are Phoenix Rivera and Eliza Peddi, with contributing staff members Kimbriel Jackson, Evyn Firestone, Cray Brown, Sophia Rios, and Paula Orellana, with additional contributions from Andrew Mbow. Mr. Throne, is the Oracle sponsor. The publication is a member of the Georgia Scholastic Press Association and National Scholastic Press Association, and its staff have contributed to these organizations and received recognitions throughout the years. 

Now that we have passed by all the coordination and staff stuff, let’s talk about what the Oracle really is. Oracle is a place where students get to write whatever they want to express themselves. This can be health articles such as “How Mental Health Affects Athletes” by Nathan Dollinger, looking at ethnicity in film, such as “Encanto’s Food, Culture, and Trama” by Phoenix Rivera, or “CRT’s Important Impact” by Mairen Brown. The Oracle has something for everyone!  

Our mission is to give every student a voice. The Oracle is a class, but we accept work from freelancers if the class just does not fit in with your schedule, or anyone who wants to contribute. This year, we will also publish student fiction, art, and poetry by members of the North Springs Echo Literary Magazine. Look for this work on the Oracle under the banner “Echo Presents.” 

We are so excited for a year full of news, opinions, information, cartoons, and overall student passion and excellence!
