Just by this title, you’d immediately assume I’m trying to do some boring preach article about how you should follow school rules, not skip class, and be P.R.O.S; you should do that regardless (don’t fight me Mr. Hanson), but for sake of everyone, stop clogging the halls. I’m so furious at the crazy amount of people lingering or wandering in the halls, especially during class switches. Now, I don’t necessarily care how you choose to spend your academic hours, but PLEASE for the love of GOD, move out the way. That goes for the smooching couples, the friends that have already reunited 5 times that day but still feel they need to recap their whole day up until then, and the groups of goofy freshmen playing around. I know for a fact that I’m not the only one who is tired of the buffoonery, so to solidify my suspicions, I interviewed a few people with questions:
- How do you feel about slow walking people in the halls or crowded bathrooms?
- Have you ever been one of those people?
- Will you be more conscious of where you’re walking or standing around in the future?
First up, we have Trinity Davis, who I asked on the way to class. When asked how she felt about slow walking people in the halls or crowded bathrooms, she responded, “It’s annoying, especially when I’m rushing or in a hurry.” Following this, I asked her, “Have you ever been one of those people?” She acknowledged, “Umm… to be honest, probably, but I always try to walk quick so I don’t do that to other people behind me.” Last, I wanted to know if she’ll be more conscious of where she is walking or standing around in the hallways. In response, she laughed, “Yes, of course. I’m always conscious of that!”
Secondly, we have Crishunna Davis. I asked her how she felt about slow walking people in the halls or crowded bathrooms, and she had strong opinion, replying,” I wanna kick them in the shins. I get like… road rage, hallway rage.” When asked if she’s ever been one of those people, she flat out said “No.” Furthermore, for the last question, she smirked and said, “No… I’m just playing- I just won’t be very respectful though.”
From a quippier point of view, we have Sabrina Baker. She felt very strongly regarding the first question, declaring, “It’s absolutely annoying, but the bathrooms I’m fine with.” With a snarky reply she said, “No, not that I know of, because I walk fast.” In response to the last question, she answered, “Definitely, because there are too many people.”
To further my argument, we have a freshman to finalize the universal struggles of the hallway, Eliza Peddi. She believes that “It is very annoying. You might not want to go to your class, but I do. I would like to pass my classes, so you know… just move to the side and let me get to class.” That is completely valid. I asked her if she’s ever been that annoying person, which too she replied with an immediate “No.” In a manner very similar to Trinity, to the last question she said, “I already am.”
Obviously, it’s clear that no one likes slow walkers. For those that do like to stop in the hallways, for us fast walkers and naturally late people, do us a favor and step to the side or at least be mindful of your surroundings. Thank you.
