It’s Academy Awards time, and we surveyed our writers to see who they thought should take home the statue.
“For best actress, Emma Stone deserves to win 100 percent, because not only is she a phenomenal actress, but you can tell that she loves what she does, and she always puts her best effort in every single movie she acts in. For best animated feature, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse should win right off the bat. It was such a great movie; all the animations, the sounds, it was chef’s kiss and deserves that award more than any other animation that was nominated in that category.” -Kelci James
“For these Oscars, I really want to see the Barbie movie win best picture because I really enjoyed it, but I know that there are a lot of other great films that could win. The Zone of Interest and Oppenheimer are the main ones I’ve heard about, but I haven’t seen them yet. “ -Inaya Diop

Some years are better than others and I think that they usually leave out the good movies from winning. Many movies get missed from the list just because their popularity wasn’t as much as, say, Barbie.
