I fail to understand why the bathrooms in good condition are always locked up. Why is it that majority of these bathrooms cluttered and sometimes unfunctional? The issue is that in most bathrooms, it feels as if at least one stall will have a broken lock/no lock. Not to mention some toilets not working for a couple days, sometimes up to a week or two. Also, during the day, in class, in between classes, there are many bathrooms that are just locked. 

Regardless of the fact that some administrators have keys to them, they remain locked for majority of the day. This fact is saddening since this means some students need to walk pretty far, sometimes halfway across school, to reach a bathroom that can be used. The length between these bathrooms also cause health concerns for some students, CBI students especially. If it’s an emergency and they can’t make it in time, that’s on the school. 

I believe that its  kind of ridiculous to have bathrooms planned and built in a building, just for them not to be used 60-odd years later. The bathrooms in-between the hall to gym and the hall to band room, have been closed permanently. First they were blocked off with fencing, now there are just wooden doors in their place. Why were they even closed in the first place? That used to be the largest bathroom, with the more spacious stalls, why close it? This goes the same for the bathrooms by the auxiliary gym. Most people don’t even know they exist because they’re never open. 

Now, I understand the school administration is concerned about students skipping class in the bathrooms, among other things, but that doesn’t excuse closing them and calling it a day. There needs to be some kind of compromise, because I’m tired of there being only two or three useable bathrooms at a time.
