Another Day In The Grim Reaper’s Memoir

Have you ever wondered how the trees sway, and the tides of water move?

Have you ever wondered how the blossoms die and then get to bloom?

Have you ever wondered how snow comes and how you get Christmas gifts?

Have you ever even wondered how time works and moves?

Well, the short answer is:

It’s me.

If you haven’t figured it out who “me” is,

then to be utterly blunt.

it is I, the Grim Reaper

who controls time.

Were you expecting me to be Santa Claus or something

because I brought up Christmas and gifts?

Ha!

That would be hilariously stupid.

This isn’t some Christmas story because I brought it up one time.

That would be ludicrous if–

Wait…

You didn’t really think I was Santa Claus,

or that this was a Christmas story, did you?

Well,

I hope you didn’t

but if you did, there’s something wrong with your head…

Seriously, no one wants to listen to Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas” all year round.

Even I wouldn’t do that,

and I’ve actually grown fond of the song over the years.

But if you do listen to it year-round,

I’m concerned for you…

Anyway,

like I was saying,

I control time. I make sure day and night happen.

I make sure the seasons change, and I do it with the gears.

For you see, time is like a

big clockwork

and it works just like a normal clock, too.

But it doesn’t work with just some batteries or a mainspring.

I control it and make it move,

and telling time isn’t the only thing this clock can do.

You see, while I many turn the gears, I’m still

the Grim Reaper

and I handle death as well.

To put it in simple terms,

every living person has a clock.

I don’t mean it as a Metaphor either.

I literally mean

that all living things have their own small clocks

that go on

and tick forever technically.

Which is where I come in.

I decide how long a clock goes and when to stop it.

I am what keeps the world going and turning.

I am the one who knows how many ticks you have left.

So be careful what you do

because your time is ticking, and you’ll

never know

when your clock

will —
