Zen or Not
Time recedes
As it always does
But with you by my side
Virtue my guide
I know the sky may be our limit
My love
Keep commitment
In your bobble box
To find time, the version of yourself,
The parts that are still you,
You’re no bastard,
No rough rilin’ past
Sweet memories found coated
Between frame and its glass.
Yet a tumbling storm
An ode to thunder and snow
Or dirt baked in drought
The sound of silence booms so
That it seem more fitting for the mass –
That is your mind
Your very verse, limerick
That you try to find,
Like vinyl, you
Spin it.
You’ll find care in my heart
While the world falls apart
And as I slip you a grin
While time itself runs quite thin,
So my dear,
Let us cross this deep tide
With our faith as a guide
Remember the tale
That conquers the frail;
Every second has a limit
Every person a fate
A new birth or death
Forced to participate
To suffer the gift that is our own skin
But enjoy the pleasures
Found from body within
Zen or not,
You know what I forgot?
Wait for me along the path you choose.
